About CVLI
Christian Video Licensing International (CVLI) is a partnership between Christian Copyright Licensing International and the Motion Picture Licensing Corporation formed to offer a movie licensing solution for churches.
Through an agreement with rights holders, the CVLI Church Video Licence provides legal coverage for individual churches and for other ministry organizations to show authorized motion pictures and TV programs, in full or in part, in their services and activities.
The need
Most of us probably ignore the copyright warning at the beginning of a movie. However, it’s there to remind people of the importance of abiding by the copyright law. As nearly all pre-recorded motion pictures and other audiovisual works (including DVDs, Blu-rays, online streaming, and digital downloads) are authorized for personal, private use only, special permission must be granted for any public performance –including in church ministry. Under Copyright Law, violations can result in substantial fines.
The solution
The Church Video Licence offers blanket copyright coverage to show titles from more than 1,500 studios and producers. This makes it the most cost effective and convenient way for ministries to protect themselves from breaking the law, whether knowingly or not.
